Specialty Stitch:
Dec Dc: (Decreasing Double Crochet)-
Yo, insert hk into st. Yo, pull through. Yo and pull through 2 loops.  Yo, and insert hk into st.  Yo, pull through. Yo and pull through 2 loops. Yo and pull through all loops on hk.
Flower Motifs

For all of these flower motifs, I used worsted weight yarns and an H sized hook.

Looped Posey
Roughly 3 1/2 inches (8.5 cm) in diameter
Ch 5, connect to form ring.
Round 1: Ch1, 12 Sc into ring connect and end off.
Round 2: Attach Petal color to any st.  *Ch 5, sk 1 st, Sc into next st. Repeat from * around circle completing 6 loops. Connect into base of first loop.  Do not end off.
Round 3: Sl st into 1st loop. *(Ch 2, 6 Hdc into same loop). Sl st into next loop. Repeat from * around circle, connect to beginning sl st. End off and weave threads.

Looped Pansy
3 1/2 inches (9cm) in diameter
Ch 4, connect to form ring.
Round 1: Ch1, 10 Sc into ring connect and end off.
Round 2: Attach Petal color to any st.  *Ch 5, sk 1 st, Sc into next st. Repeat from * around circle completing 5 loops. Connect into base of first loop.  Do not end off.
Round 3: Sl st into 1st loop. *(Ch 3, 10 Dc, Ch 3 and sl st into same loop). Sl st into next loop.  Repeat from * around circle, connect to beginning sl st. End off and weave threads.

Painted Daisy
4 1/2 inches (11 cm) in diameter
Ch 5 , connect to form ring.
Round 1: Work 12 Sc into ring, connect to beg ch. End off.
Round 2: Attach Petal Color Yarn in any sc. *Ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hk. Hdc into next ch, and each other ch of post (4 total.) Sc in next Sc of base round. Repeat form * around circle completing 12 petal posts in total. Sl st into base of 1st petal post. End off and weave threads.

Coreopsis Flower
2 3/4 inches (7 cm) in diameter
Ch 4 Connect to form ring.
Round 1: Ch1, 12 Sc into ring. Connect to beg ch. End off.
Round 2: Attach Petal Color to any Sc. *(Ch 1, Hdc, Dc, Trc, Dc, Hdc, Ch1 and sl st) all in same st.  Sc into next st. Sl st into next st.  Repeat from * around circle. Connect to base of beg ch. End off. Weave threads.

Indian Blanket Flower Coaster (aka Goblin Blanket)
In Dark Rust/Brown:
Ch 6. Connect to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 2 (serves as 1st Hdc.) 12 more Hdc into ring. Connect to beg ch, end off and weave threads.

Round 2: Attach Dark Gold Yarn. Ch 2. 1 Sc into next Hdc. *Ch 1, Sc in next st. Repeat  from * around circle ending with a Ch 1 and connect to beg ch of round.  End off and weave threads.

Round 3: Attach Burgundy Yarn in any Ch 1 sp.  Ch 2 and Dc into same sp.  *Ch 3,  Dec Dc into next Ch 1 sp. Repeat from * around circle ending with a Ch 3 and connect into beg ch.  End off and weave threads.

Round 4: Attach a muted Green (avacado, moss, dark celery,) at any Ch 3 sp. Ch 1 (serves as 1st Sc). Work 3 Sc into same Ch 3 Sp. (Work 4 Sc into next Ch 3 sp.)  Repeat this around circle.  Connect to beg ch, and end off, weave threads.
