Snowflake Fridgie #9
I designed this snowflake using the thread, instead of yarn. Yes, the reverse is true, you can do this pattern in yarn for a larger snowflake.
Ch 4. Connect to form a circle.
Round 1: (Ch 3. Dc into circle. Work Triple Picot. Sl St into top of Dc to anchor Triple Picot. Ch 3, Sc into Circle.) 6 Times. End off and weave threads.
A customer wanted some extra large snowflakes to decorate a huge tree in a business. Using Worsted Weight Glitter yarn wtih a G or H Sized hook, these average 7 inches from tip to tip.
I did the samples in 2 strands of #10 cotton thread and an 0 sized hook. These range in size from 3 to 4 1/2 inches from tip to tip.
Use these instructions to start the remaining snowflakes:
Ch 6 & connect to form circle.
Row 1: Ch 4 (Serves as 1st Dc and Ch 1). (Dc, Ch 1) 11 times into center of ring. Connect to beg ch.
Snowflake #10
Rows 2 & 3: (Ch 6, Sc in next Ch1 Sp) 11 times. Ch 3, Dc into base of beg ch (Round 3: Dc into top of Dc of Round 2.)
Row 4: Ch 1, Sc in same lp. *(Dc, Ch 1) 3 times in next lp. Work Single Picot. (Dc, Ch1) 3 times in same lp. Sc in next loop. Repeat from * around circle. Connect to beg Sc and end off. Weave threads.
Snowflake #11- Variation of #10
Use the same instructions for Snowflake #10 up to Row 4, then use the following to finish:
Row 4: Ch 1, Sc in same lp. *(Dc, Ch 1) 3 times in next lp. Work Triple Picot. (Dc, Ch1) 3 times in same lp. Sc in next loop & work Grounded Picot St. Repeat from * around circle ending with Grounded Picot St in top of beg Sc. End off and weave threads.
Snowflake #12
Row 2: (Ch 5, Sc in next Ch1 Sp) 11 times. Ch 3, Dc into base of beg ch.
Row 3: Ch 1, Sc in same lp. *3 Dc in next lp. Work Picot St. 3 Dc in same lp. Sc in next loop. Repeat from * around circle, connect to beg Sc. End off and weave threads.
Snowflake #13- Variation of #12
Use the same instructions for Snowflake #12 up to Row 3, then use the following to finish:
Row 3: Ch 1, Sc in same lp. *3 Dc in next lp. Work Triple Picot. 3 Dc in same lp. Sc in next loop, work Grounded Picot. Repeat from * around circle ending with Grounded Picot St in beginning Sc. End off and weave threads.
Snowflake #14
Row 2: (Ch 5, Sc in next Ch1 Sp.) 11 times around circle. Ch 2, Dc into base of beg ch.
