Pineapple Motifs

You will need Gold and Dark Green worsted weight yarn with a hook to accommodate the size of the yarn.  I used worsted weight yarns and an H hook.

Coaster/Bulletin Board Motif
Start with gold thread:
Round 1: Ch 8, in 3rd ch from Hook, 1 dc. Dc in each Ch to last ch (5 dc).
6 dc in last ch turning corner and starting back down other side of foundation. Dc into each stitch of side (5dc). 5 DC into last st. Sl st into top of first dc. (23 sts including ch3).
Round 2: Ch 3, dc into same st as ch 3. DC down to curve (4dc), 2 dc in next 6 sts to round the end, 1dc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st. 2 sc in next 3 sts, 2hdc in last st. Slst into top of 1st dc. End off. Weave threads.
Find the center 3 sts of end that is all dc. With green yarn, attach to right hand st of center three sts. Ch 8, sl st into same st to form loop. Ch 8, sl st into same st, ch 8, sl st into next st, ch 10, sl st into same st, ch 8 sl st into same st, chain 8 sl st into
next st, ch 8 sl st into same st. End off, and weave threads.

Hot Pad
Start with gold yarn:
Round 1: Ch 8, in 4th ch from Hook, 1 dc. Dc in each Ch to last ch (5 dc).
7 dc in last ch turning corner and starting back down other side of foundation. Dc into each stitch of side (4dc). 6 Dc into last st. Sl st into top of first Dc. (24 sts including ch3).
Round 2: Ch 3, Dc into same st as ch 3. DC in next 6 sts, 2 Dc in next 6 sts to round the end, 1Dc in next 6 sts, 2 Dc in next 5 sts. 1 Dc beside beg ch, connect to beg ch.
Round 3: Ch 3, Dc into same st as ch 3.  1 Dc in next 8 sts. 2 Dc in next 8 sts. 1 Dc into next 10 sts. 2 Dc into next 8 sts. 1 Dc into last st, connect to beg ch.  End off.  
Make 2 of these, but stop before connecting to beg ch of Round 3 of the second Pineapple Body. DO NOT END OFF THE SECOND ONE.  Hold both Pineapple bodies together with WRONG SIDES together. Insert Hook in beg ch of current Pineapple body, AND into corresponding st of other Pineapple body. Finish sl st.
Round 4: Ch 3.  Making certain to insert hk through both sides of pineapple, work 1 Dc in same st as beg ch, and in next 10 sts. 2 Dc into next 10 sts. Dc into next 14 sts.  2 Dc into next 2 sts.  Hdc into next 8 sts. 2 Dc into next 2 sts. 1 Dc in next 4 sts.  Connect to beg ch and end off.

Pineapple Top Knot
Starting with Ch 3, count to stitch 15 of Round 4.  Attach Dark Green yarn.
*Ch 12, Sc in next st. Repeat 11 more times. End off. Weave threads.
